Tiv are found in Benue (where they are the majority) and in Taraba and Nassarawa States of Nigeria as well as Cameroon with an estimated 5 - 6 million people. They are hospitable to a fault thus, many have accused them of giving out their wives to entertain guests which is totally false. A Tiv man does not joke with three things: his wife, meat and wine. They are great farmers, contributing immensely in making Benue State the food basket of Nigeria. They have four to five tonations that are mutually intelligible. #Tiv #CulturalHeritage #Benue
