Gov Eno Constitutes Committee on AKWAGIS Law
Ahead of plans for a law on the establishment and operations of the State’s Geographical Information System, AKWAGIS, a six - man committee has been constituted by the Akwa Ibom State Government.
The Committee headed by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Uko Udom,SAN, has been given ten days to submit its report.
Governor Umo Eno constituted the committee while presiding over Day Two of the ongoing State Executive Council Retreat in Lagos.
The Committee was formed by the State government following a presentation by the Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Dr Frank Ekpenyong.
Other members of the committee include, Commissioner for Lands, Captain Iniobong Ekong, Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Dr Frank Ekpenyong, Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Okon Okon, the State Surveyor General, Mrs Ime Udoh, as well as the Chairman of the Uyo Capital City Development Authority, UCCDA, Hon Anietie Eka.
Upon ratification by the State Government, a bill on the establishment of the AKWAGIS agency is to be sent to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for passage into law.
