JUSTICE FOR MKPANG CHARLES
Our attention has been drawn to a publication by the Nigeria Police Force, in which they claim to have made a "donation" to Mr. Mkpang Charles, the innocent man shot by one of their officers. In their statement, they shockingly described the officer as "mad."
Let’s be clear: This is not an act of goodwill. This is an act of negligence, brutality, and injustice.
According to Mr. Mkpang’s wife, the total amount given by the Nigeria Police Force is only ₦200,000.
We ask: Is ₦200,000 the value of a man’s life? Is this the price of police recklessness in Nigeria?
We demand answers!
Why is the police force "donating" instead of taking full responsibility?
If the officer was truly mad, what measures have been taken to prevent similar cases?
Where is the accountability for this reckless abuse of power?
Has the officer been arrested, dismissed, or simply transferred elsewhere?
This is not justice. This is an insult.
A man has been shot, traumatized, and left to suffer, and all the police could offer is a meager sum as if it were a handout? This is unacceptable.
We stand firm in demanding:
Full responsibility from the Nigeria Police Force
Comprehensive medical care for Mr. Mkpang Charles
Adequate compensation for the damages caused
Prosecution of the officer responsible
We will not rest until justice is served!
