Dangerfield Newby is the actual man on which the movie D’Jango Unchained is loosely based.
He was a member of the John Brown raiders. He joined the gang to save his wife, Harriet and children from slavery.
—Dangerfield Newby (1815 – October 17, 1859) was the oldest of John Brown's raiders, one of five black raiders, and the first of his men to die at Harpers Ferry, Virginia.
Born into slavery in Fauquier County, Virginia, Newby married a woman also enslaved. Newby's father was Henry Newby, a landowner in Fauquier County. His mother was Elsey Newby, who was a slave, owned not by Henry, but by a neighbor, John Fox. Elsey and Henry lived together for many years and had several children, although interracial marriage was illegal in Virginia. Dangerfield was their first child. Dangerfield Newby, his mother and his siblings were later freed by his father when he moved them across the Ohio River into Bridgeport, Ohio. John Fox, who died in 1859, apparently did not attempt to retrieve Elsey, Dangerfield, or any of his siblings. Dangerfield's wife and their seven children remained in bondage. A letter found on his body revealed some of his motivation for joining John Brown and the raid on Harpers Ferry.

Their master raised the price after Newby had saved the $1,500 that had previously been agreed on. Because all of Newby's other efforts had failed he hoped to free them by force. Harriet's poignant letters, found on his body, proved instrumental in advancing the abolitionist cause. Newby was six foot two.
On October 17, 1859, the citizens of Harpers Ferry set to put down the raid. Harpers Ferry manufactured guns but the citizens had little ammunition, so during the assault on the raiders they fired anything they could fit into a gun barrel. One man was shooting six inch spikes from his rifle, one of which struck Newby in the throat, killing him instantly. After the raid, the people of Harpers Ferry took his body, stabbed it repeatedly, and amputated his limbs. His body was left in an alley to be eaten by hogs. In 1899 the remains of Newby-plus remains of nine other raiders-were reburied in a common grave near the body of John Brown in North Elba, New York.

MESSAGE
God's word declares that it is He who gives His covenant people the power to get wealth. I have often wondered what this amazing power to get wealth is all about until I saw that Solomon the richest man that ever lived asking for wisdom and along with wisdom came riches and wealth that the world is still talking about till date.
His daily provisions according to the account of 1Kings 4:22-23; sums up to at least over $60,000, it's only very wealthy people that spends such money on food daily.
The source of such must be inexhaustible, if such budget should be sustained or maintained.
Having seen that wisdom is the principal thing, its clear that with wisdom, wealth is a natural sequence that follows.
Every form of lack is traceable to the lack of wisdom.
*Every form of financial issues is a wisdom issue.*
Otherwise, wherever wisdom is found, money results naturally, though with time.
However, wisdom is hidden from all men because all men have fallen from the glory of God. Its the glory of God therefore, to conceal sacred things from fallen humans, and we show our value for hidden stuffs by making ourselves available to search them out.
*Pure wisdom from God is extremely sacred and flows directly from Him into the hearts of those who are undefiled in their relationship with God.*
Pure wisdom connects it's beneficiaries to the secret chambers of God's deepest mysteries, and with such mysteries, we gain masteries over the affairs of life irrespective of the challenges on ground.
Wisdom is more than just the application of knowledge, rather, it is the correct application of the insights gotten from direct fellowship or relationship with God. *When our relationship with God is intact, He sustains us from His endless abundance and possibilities.*
It's simply amazing how God supplies the needs of those who are connected to Him.
ACTION STEPS
1. Ask the Lord to purify your heart and soul from every form of pollutions, impurities and unrighteousness.
2. Love and pursue knowledge with all you have.
3. Cry after wisdom on daily basis.
PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for today's devotional guide, I receive the grace to stay connected to you and draw from your limitless wisdom and knowledge for endless possibilities in my life in Jesus name.

WIFE/Husband... God, I want to fast and pray this week
GOD: What will you be fasting and praying for?
WIFE: My marriage
GOD: Have you told your husband about it?
WIFE: I don't think I need to
GOD: Where is your Bible?
WIFE: It's in my handbag
GOD: When was the last time you read the Bible?
WIFE: It's been a long while
GOD: Then how do you expect to pray in the right way if you don't take time to know My will by reading My Word? Pray using My Word
WIFE: How do I pray using Your Word?
GOD: By returning My Word to Me. Speak My inspired Word back to Me. Like Jesus, say "It is written". My Word will not return to Me void but will accomplish the purpose intended. Hold Me to account on My Word. Go get your Bible my child
WIFE: Yes Lord
WIFE: I am back
GOD: Read 1 Corinthians 7: 5
WIFE: It says, "Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control."
GOD: That passage of Scripture is addressing the husband and wife. I don't think you fully understand what I mean when I say in marriage, two become one. You and your husband have become one. You should be informing your husband
WIFE: Why? What for? It's not like he will want to fast with me
GOD: Have you tried asking him?
WIFE: Aah. I know him. He doesn't like this spiritual stuff. I wish he was as spiritual as me
GOD: My child, I know him better than you do. Your attitude of seeing yourself as spiritually superior is what is discouraging joint prayer between you and him. You already formed an opinion about him and you push that opinion in his face. Why do you feel the need to show how spiritual you are?
WIFE: I take hours to pray for my marriage. I wish he knew how much I am on my knees for this marriage to work
GOD: My child, you're doing the right thing but your attitude and motives don't please Me. You pray a miss because your heart is not in the right place. I have seen you spending hours at keshas in Church buildings; only to come back home and shout at your children and husband as you pass judgement on them. I have watched you kneel in your bedroom in prayer, only for you to show contempt and disrespect to your husband some hours later. I have seen you fasting, only for you to speak negative belittling your husband. What exactly do you want? Your prayers and fasting seem religious, like you do them to appease yourself or to show off. In the Church congregation, you are celebrated because you never miss concerts, fellowships, revival meetings, Church services and keshas; but at home you are an ungrateful wife, an angry wife, a cold wife, a harsh mother, a discouraging mother, a thorn in the flesh. Kindly read 1st Corinthians 13: 1 - 3
WIFE: If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
GOD: My child, if your husband and children don't feel loved by you then all your praying and fasting is for nothing. It is not what you do, but who you are. You can fast all this week for your marriage yet destroy your own marriage by how you treat your husband
WIFE: So what do I do God? What do I do?
GOD: Always remember that marriages remain strong, not because of prayer but because of love; prayer is but a force accompanying love. As you speak to Me in prayer, speak love to your husband.
Praying for your marriage will not automatically make your marriage fruitful; you must work on your marriage. Stop using prayer and fasting to hide your laziness or to cover up the things you need to change as a wife. I really desire to see love in your home. I desire to see you and your husband laughing, treating each other well. Whatever you do to your husband, you do to Me. I desire to see you two together in love in My presence
WIFE: God, forgive me for going about it the wrong way. Please give me some minutes. I will be back
