• His Wife Wet the Bed on Their Wedding Night—And Then This Happened - Episode 4

His Mother Moved In—and Tried to Take Over the Marriage…

After weathering therapy, emotional breakdowns, and late-night phone drama, Obiora and Christy were finally in sync again.

The house was filled with peace. Laughter. Warmth. Even the neighbors had started calling them “that sweet couple.” But in Nigeria, peace is often short-lived when family gets involved.

It all started with a phone call.

“Mama’s not feeling too strong,” Obiora told Christy one evening. “Doctor says she should be around people. I think she should come stay with us for a few weeks.”

Christy smiled and nodded. “Of course. She’s welcome anytime.”

She meant it too. She loved Mama Ngozi—or at least, the version she knew from wedding ceremonies and video calls. What she didn’t realize was…

Mama Ngozi was a full-force hurricane in a gele.

The moment she entered the house, the atmosphere shifted.

“Ehn, so this is how you people live?” she said, scanning the living room like a general inspecting troops. “This chair is not facing the TV properly. And this flower? Haba. Artificial? In my son’s house?”

Christy laughed it off. She thought it was cute. For the first two days.

But then Mama started waking her up at 5 a.m. to pray.

    Then came the cooking.

“You young girls don’t know how to cook soup again. Christy, give me that pot. You’re stirring it like you’re mixing paint.”

Christy bit her tongue. She tried. Really tried.

Until the ultimate line dropped during one Sunday lunch.

Mama Ngozi turned to Obiora and said in Igbo—loud enough for Christy to hear:

“If you had married that Ada girl from the village, you would be eating fresh pounded yam every day, not this microwave love.”

Christy’s fork paused mid-air. Her chest tightened.

Obiora caught the moment. He saw the pain in Christy’s eyes. And for the first time since Mama arrived, he spoke up.

    “Mama, please. Respect my wife.”

    The room fell silent.

“She may not pound yam or wake up before the cock crows, but this woman held me down when I was broken. You’re my mother, and I love you—but this is our home. Not your battleground.”

Mama gasped like she’d been shot. “So you’re choosing a woman over me, Obiora?”

“I’m choosing peace. I’m choosing my marriage.”

Mama stood. Packed her things. And went to stay with Obiora’s older sister “for just a few days.” She didn’t speak to him for a week.

Christy, shaken but grateful, turned to her husband that night.

    “Thank you,” she whispered.

Obiora pulled her close and smiled. “You don’t leave someone you pray for, remember?”

    They laughed through tears.

  • SHE HAD A ONE NIGHT STAND WITH A BILLIONAIRE THEN THIS HAPPENED ……

    Episode 2

And then she saw two bold pink lines. Positive.
    Joy froze.
Her breath caught in her throat, and for a moment she thought she might pass out. She was pregnant. She pressed a hand to her stomach trying to make sense of it.
A life was growing inside her. Lawrence Johnson's child.
    Tears welled in her eyes.
What was she going to do? For the next few days, Joy couldn't sleep. Her mind kept racing with one question. Should she tell him? She didn't even have his phone number.
The only way to reach him was through his company, Johnson Group. After struggling with the decision, she finally gathered the courage to go to his office.
The Johnson Group building in Leosville was a towering glass structure that seemed to touch the sky.
Inside, everything was sleek and polished, filled with expensive suits and the sound of heels clicking on marble floors. Joy felt small. She approached the front desk, her hands clenched into fists.
I need to see Mr. Lawrence Johnson, she said trying to keep her voice steady. The receptionist, a tall woman with a tight bun and an even tighter expression, gave her a disbelieving look.
Do you have an appointment? Joy hesitated.
No, but it's important. Please, I just need a few minutes. The receptionist sighed loudly, tapping on her keyboard.
Mr. Johnson doesn't meet people without an appointment. If you'd like to book one, the earliest available date is three months from now. Joy's heart sank.
Three months? By then, she would already be showing.
There's no way to see him sooner? She asked, desperate. The woman gave her a sharp look.
Ma'am, Mr. Johnson is not someone you can just walk in and see. If you don't have an appointment, I suggest you leave. Joy stared at her, feeling a lump form in her throat.
So this was how it was. She had been nothing to him that night, and now she couldn't even get five minutes of his time. She turned away slowly, feeling defeated.
But as she reached the door, another thought hit her.
Even if she did manage to tell Lawrence, what would he think? That she was trying to trap him. That she wanted his money.

Joy's stomach twisted. She had already seen what he thought of women like her. He left her money on the nightstand like she was a prostitute.
He would never believe she wasn't trying to use this pregnancy against him. And honestly, she didn't want anything from him. She didn't need his money.
She didn't need his name. She would raise this baby on her own. Taking a deep breath, Joy walked out of Johnson Group, her decision made.
She would never reach out to him again. He would never know about this child. She would be both mother and father.
She didn't need him. She never had. And so, Joy disappeared from Lawrence's world, taking their child with her.

After much thought joy had to resign from her work inorder to take care of herself and her unborn son .
It was a really tough moment for her as she didn’t have any single money to even feed .
At a time she considered committing an Abortion but her conscience wouldn’t let her

The only person she could confined in was her old mother who accepted her whole heartedly and tried to ease the burden from her shoulders .
Her mother despite her old age still took extreme care of her daughter and her unborn child .

Joy and her mother would normally sit outside under the mango tree every evening to gist and talk about past events of the day but one day joy decided to bring up the idea of aborting the child
her mother looked at her sternly ,Joy ,joy joy how many times did I call you
Don’t make the mistake of terminating the blessing that God had sent you
After saying this she stood up and went into her room to sleep leaving joy thinking to herself .

She finally concluded within her not to terminate the child as it could be what God has destined .

One day as joy was sweeping the front yard of their hut ,she started to feel a sharp pain at her abdomen region , she screamed in pain as her mother rushed out
Her mother quickly called some men to help her and they rushed joy to the nearest hospital

Push !! Push !!, The doctors voice was heard from the labour room
Her mother just sat in the waiting room praying silently to herself

30 minutes later the doctor came out with a wide smile on his face
He looked at joy’s mother and said happily
Congratulations mama ,your daughter has just given birth to a bouncing baby boy
Joy’s mother had tears of joy running down her cheeks as she rushed in to see her daughter smiling at her while holding her son
She couldn’t hold back her tears as she hugged her daughter graciously
Mama ,Joy called out ,meet Noah your grandson who is going to wipe both your tears and mine away .

    FIVE YEARS LATER
The streets of Leosville bustled with life, filled with the sound of honking cars, people bargaining in open-air markets, and the distant hum of construction sites. The city had grown, just as Noah had.
At just five years old, Noah Daniels was a ball of energy.
His bright eyes shone with curiosity and his laughter was contagious. He was the reason Joy Daniels kept pushing forward every single day.
She had worked hard over the years, climbing her way up in the interior design industry.

Though she didn't have her own company yet, she had made a name for herself.
Clients admired her work, and she was proud that she had built a stable life for Noah without anyone's help.
She didn't need Lawrence Johnson. She had erased him from her life. But fate had other plans.

It was a warm afternoon, and Joy had promised Noah a trip to Royal Crest Mall, one of the most luxurious shopping centres in Leosville. The mall was owned by none other than Johnson Group. But Joy didn't think much of that.
She had long stopped worrying about Lawrence crossing paths with her. He probably wouldn't even remember her, so what were the chances? Noah ran ahead excitedly, tugging on Joy's hand as they passed through the mall's food court.
Mommy, can I have ice cream? he asked, his big brown eyes filled with hope.
Joy smiled. Okay, okay. Just one scoop.

She led him to a small ice cream stand, waiting as the vendors scooped vanilla into a cup. Noah grinned, happily digging in as they continued walking.
It was supposed to be just another normal day.

Until she heard a voice. A voice that made her entire body freeze.
Across the mall, standing in front of a row of luxury stores, Lawrence Johnson stood with a men in suits.

He was doing his routine property inspection, something he rarely had time for, but today he had decided to visit the mall personally with his management staff.
As he listened to his assistant discuss sales figures, his gaze casually swept across the food court. And then he saw the child.
A small boy. Dark curly hair. A sharp jawline.
A face that looked almost exactly like his own. Lawrence stopped breathing.
The resemblance was too strong to ignore.
His heart pounded as he watched the boy take a bite of his ice cream, laughing as his mother wiped a smudge off his cheek. And then, his eyes shifted to the woman holding the boy's hand. Something flickered in his mind, a vague sense of familiarity, but he couldn't place her.

Where had he seen her before? Who was she?
And why did her son look exactly like him? Before he knew what he was doing, Lawrence started
walking toward them. Joy was laughing at something Noah had said when she felt a presence behind her.
    A dark, powerful presence.
She turned, and her heart dropped.

  • She Chose the Man Nobody Wanted, But What She Discovered Will Shock You

In the dusty little village of Akur Ruba, people never forget how they laughed the day Ada married Ema—the man nobody wanted.

Ema was the village’s poorest farmer. His house had cracked walls, a leaking roof, and no future—at least, that's what everyone believed. He owned nothing but a rusted hoe and dreams that barely kept him alive. Even the poorest in the village pitied his family.

He was raised by his aging grandparents, Grandpa and Grandma Obi, and despite their poverty, Grandpa Obi carried a cheerful spirit and a belief that one day, Ema would shine.

“Son,” he always said, “there’s more hope in a living dog than a dead lion. Just keep your hands clean and keep working.”

But no matter how hard Ema worked, no lady wanted him.
    They mocked him.
    Laughed in his face.

“Can you even afford my bride price?” one lady sneered.
“Maybe sell your father's old bicycle first!” another laughed.

He bore it all—until one day, fate intervened.

Ema met Ada, a quiet orphan from a nearby village, who had nothing to her name but an old, squeaky sewing machine and a tiny patch of land. No family. No support. Just raw strength and humility. Like Ema, she had also known hunger, rejection, and pain.

They connected instantly—two broken souls, stitched together by survival and simplicity.

One day, under the shade of an old mango tree, Ema asked,

    “Will you marry me?”

She smiled, wiping tears from her eyes.

“Yes, but I have no parents. Just an elderly couple who treat me like their daughter. They can stand for me.”

And so, with borrowed clothes and empty pockets, they did a low-key traditional wedding. No music. No food. No glamour. Just love.

The village laughed louder than ever.

    “Poverty married poverty!”
“Perfect match! At least now they can starve together!”

    But they didn’t care.

They went to the farm together. Ate from the same plate. Shared stories, laughter, and hope. What others saw as disgrace, they lived as joy.

    Then, everything changed.

One sunny afternoon, Ema was clearing a part of his farm when he came upon a stubborn tree with roots as deep as his struggles. He tried to uproot it, but something told him,

    “Keep digging.”

    And he did.

He dug and dug—his fingers bleeding, sweat dripping—until he saw something shiny lodged in the dirt. He reached in…

    It was a massive diamond.

Heart pounding, he wrapped it up and ran home.

    His grandfather's eyes widened.

“Do you know what this is, son? This… this is a miracle.”

The next morning, they traveled to the city to meet Grandpa’s old friend—a trustworthy goldsmith. After examining the stone, the man looked up and whispered,

“This isn’t just a diamond. It’s one of the rarest and most valuable stones I’ve ever seen.”

    That day, everything changed.

They sold the diamond and used the money wisely—investing, building, helping others. Ema and Ada became the wealthiest couple in the entire region.

    And those who once mocked?

They watched in silence as Ema built a mansion right where their cracked house once stood. He bought his grandfather a brand new car to replace the rusted bicycle. He set up a fashion institute for Ada, who trained and empowered other orphan girls.

One of the same women who had once laughed at Ema now came to Ada for a job. Ada simply smiled and said,

“Life can change. Be kind to everyone. You never know where they’ll be tomorrow.”

Ema—the man nobody wanted—became the man everyone wished they had chosen.

  • Step-by-Step: The Catholic Church after the death of a Pope

    1. Confirmation of Death

The Camerlengo (Chamberlain of the Holy Roman Church) officially confirms the pope’s death.
Traditionally, he gently calls the pope’s baptismal name three times. If there's no response, he declares the pope dead.

    2. Destruction of the Fisherman’s Ring

The Fisherman’s Ring, a signet used to seal official documents, is broken by the Camerlengo in the presence of cardinals.
This prevents its misuse and symbolizes the end of the pope’s authority.

    3. Official Announcement

The Vatican makes an official public announcement.
Bells may toll and mourning customs begin, including the flying of flags at half-staff in some places.

    4. Nine Days of Mourning –

A period of official mourning lasts nine days, during which Masses are offered for the repose of the pope’s soul.
The body is prepared and displayed in St. Peter’s Basilica for public veneration.

    5. Burial

The pope is traditionally buried in the crypt beneath St. Peter’s Basilica (though he may request another resting place).
The body is usually placed in three coffins: wood, lead, and another wooden coffin, each placed inside the other.

    6. Sede Vacante (Vacant See)

During this time, all governance of the Church is paused, except for routine matters handled by the Camerlengo.
No new appointments or major decisions can be made until a new pope is elected.

    7. Preparation for the Conclave

The College of Cardinals gathers in Rome.
After at least 15 days but no more than 20 days following the pope’s death, the conclave begins to elect a new pope.
Only cardinals under 80 years old are eligible to vote.

    8. The Conclave

Held in the Sistine Chapel under strict secrecy.
Voting continues until a candidate receives two-thirds majority.
After a successful vote, the elected cardinal is asked: “Do you accept your canonical election as Supreme Pontiff?”
If he says yes, he chooses a papal name.

    9. The New Pope is Announced

The cardinal proto-deacon steps onto the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica and declares:
“Habemus Papam!” (We have a Pope!)
The new pope then appears and gives his first Urbi et Orbi blessing.

Destruction of the Fisherman’s Ring The Fisherman’s Ring, a signet used to seal official documents, is broken by the Camerlengo in the presence of cardinals. This prevents its misuse and symbolizes the end of the pope’s authority. 3. Official Announcement The Vatican makes an official public announcement. Bells may toll and mourning customs begin, including the flying of flags at half-staff in some places. 4. Nine Days of Mourning – A period of official mourning lasts nine days, during which Masses are offered for the repose of the pope’s soul. The body is prepared and displayed in St. Peter’s Basilica for public veneration. 5. Burial The pope is traditionally buried in the crypt beneath St. Peter’s Basilica (though he may request another resting place). The body is usually placed in three coffins: wood, lead, and another wooden coffin, each placed inside the other. 6. Sede Vacante (Vacant See) During this time, all governance of the Church is paused, except for routine matters handled by the Camerlengo. No new appointments or major decisions can be made until a new pope is elected. 7. Preparation for the Conclave The College of Cardinals gathers in Rome. After at least 15 days but no more than 20 days following the pope’s death, the conclave begins to elect a new pope. Only cardinals under 80 years old are eligible to vote. 8. The Conclave Held in the Sistine Chapel under strict secrecy. Voting continues until a candidate receives two-thirds majority. After a successful vote, the elected cardinal is asked: “Do you accept your canonical election as Supreme Pontiff?” If he says yes, he chooses a papal name. 9. The New Pope is Announced The cardinal proto-deacon steps onto the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica and declares: “Habemus Papam!” (We have a Pope!) The new pope then appears and gives his first Urbi et Orbi blessing.

  • Title: The Porcupine Who Shared Her Quills

In the heart of the golden savanna, where the winds hummed lullabies and the stars blinked like ancestral eyes, lived a porcupine named Noma. She was quiet, thoughtful, and covered in sharp, glistening quills. The animals often avoided her—not out of cruelty, but caution.

“She’s too prickly to be close to,” whispered the hare.
“She carries weapons on her back,” murmured the mongoose.

    So Noma wandered alone.

But she watched. And she listened. And she loved them all from afar.

One year, a fierce lion from the northern hills crossed into the savanna. He was wounded, hungry, and angry. He roared his fury into the wind and declared, “This land is mine now!”

The animals trembled. No one dared challenge him. The zebra ran. The baboons hid. Even the cheetah stayed silent.

    Then, Noma stepped forward.

The lion snarled. “You? With your little feet and needles?”

“I have no teeth like yours,” she said calmly. “But I do have a gift.”

One by one, she pulled her own quills from her back and laid them in the dust.

“For the birds—make arrows to fly.”
    “For the hedgehogs—guard your dens.”
    “For the buffalo—defend your young.”
    “For the antelope—mark your paths.”

The animals were stunned. Her pain became their protection.

With Noma’s quills, the savanna stood as one.

And when the lion charged again, he found not one enemy—but a forest of unity. He turned and fled into the mountains.

That night, the animals circled Noma. They no longer feared her quills—they honored them. And in the center of the clearing, they built a nest of her feathers of strength.

She had not fought with anger—but with sacrifice.

    Moral Lessons:
    1. True strength is not in how much you keep—but in how much you’re willing to give.
    2. Even what makes you different can become a gift when shared in love.
    3. A single act of courage can inspire unity in the face of fear.

  • Everything stopped. Chidi’s face grew dark, and Amaka’s heart froze. She pulled free, grabbed Ngozi, and held her tight, backing away. “It’s okay, baby,” she said, her voice wobbly. Chidi glared, his fists ready. For a moment, he looked ready to charge. But then he turned, cursing loud, and stormed out into the rain, slamming the door.
Amaka dropped to the floor, hugging Ngozi as the girl cried into her shoulder. Her cheek hurt, her arm ached, but something new woke inside her—a tiny spark. Ngozi’s courage had lit it, a small glow in the dark. She rocked her daughter, saying, “We’re okay, we’re okay,” but her mind raced. How long could they stay like this? How long before Chidi hurt Ngozi too?
Outside, the rain hid Chidi’s angry words as he vanished into the night. Inside, Amaka’s tears mixed with Ngozi’s, but deep down, a plan started growing. She didn’t know how or when, but she knew they couldn’t stay. Not anymore. As the lamp flickered and the clock ticked, Amaka held Ngozi close, her heart growing strong. This wasn’t the end—it was the start of something new, something risky, something big.
Morning sun peeked through torn curtains, painting golden lines on the wooden floor. Amaka sat at the kitchen table, her hands wrapped around a chipped mug of cold tea. The bruise on her cheek had turned darker, a loud reminder of Chidi’s anger. Ngozi slept upstairs, her soft snores floating down like a gentle song. Amaka hadn’t closed her eyes. Her head buzzed with thoughts of running away, mixed with fear and hope. Ngozi’s brave stand had lit a small fire in her heart, but it wasn’t strong enough to show her the way yet.
The house was too quiet without Chidi. He hadn’t come back after stomping off into the rain, and that scared her more than if he’d returned. Where was he? Drinking at Mama Nkechi’s bar? Sleeping in a ditch? Or plotting something worse? She shivered, pulling her wrapper close. She knew him: his quiet wasn’t peace—it was danger waiting to jump out. Her eyes kept flicking to the door, expecting his fist to crash through.
Ngozi’s footsteps broke the silence. She shuffled in, her doll under her arm, her face puffy from crying. “Mama, is Daddy gone?” she asked, climbing onto a stool. Amaka nodded slow. “For now, yes.” Ngozi pressed her lips tight, too wise for her age. “He’ll come back,” she said, soft but sure. Amaka’s chest hurt. She touched Ngozi’s braids. “We won’t let him hurt us again,” she said, her voice stronger than she felt.
But how? She had no money—Chidi kept every penny. Her salon days were far away, and her old friends had stopped coming around, tired of her excuses for the marks. Then she thought of her sister, Ifeoma, in Surulere—a busy, safe place with her husband and three boys. Ifeoma had begged her to leave Chidi years ago, after seeing a black eye at Christmas. “Come to us,” she’d said, fierce. “He’ll kill you one day.” Amaka had waved it off, too ashamed. Now, those words felt like a rope to climb out.
She stood, legs wobbly but sure, and pulled an old suitcase from under the bed. It was beaten up, patched with tape, but it would work. She packed Ngozi’s clothes first—small shirts and skirts folded neat. Then her own: a few wrappers, a blouse, slippers. She stopped at an old photo in a drawer—her and Chidi on their wedding day, smiling under a mango tree. Her throat tightened, but she tossed it back. That Chidi was gone, turned into a monster she didn’t know.
A motorbike roared outside, and she froze. She peeked out, heart pounding. It was just Mr. Tunde, the neighbor, heading to market. She breathed shaky, but the fright pushed her faster. She grabbed some garri and a tin of milk—enough for a day or two. Ngozi watched, eyes wide. “Are we running, Mama?” she whispered. Amaka knelt, holding her face. “We’re going somewhere safe, my love. Where Daddy can’t find us.”

Where Daddy can’t find us.” Continue the story on the comment section

The #ZOF 🏴‍☠ (“iDF” aka iOF) terrorist organization admits to the elimination of one more of its vile terrorists and injury of five others, including three seriously, in a #Palestinian #Resistance operation in the northern #Gaza Strip earlier today:

☠ Warrant Officer G’haleb Sliman Alnasasra, 35, a tracker in the “Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade”.

According to an initial ZOF probe, at 12:58 p.m., a group of ZOF terrorists driving along a ZOF logistics road, close to an army encampment inside Gaza, came under fire by the brave Palestinian Resistance mujahideen, who had come out of a tunnel shaft, launched an RPG at the #Zionist army vehicle.

Three ZOF terrorists of the 414th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit were wounded in the attack. Two of them, an officer and a combat medic, are listed in serious condition.

A short while later, Zionist rescue forces led by the commander of the “Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade”, Omri Mashiah, reached the scene, along with trackers from the brigade.

At 1:25 p.m., Palestinian mujahideen set off an explosive device on the side of a road, near the rescue forces, eliminating Alnasasra and wounding two other trackers, including one seriously.

A total of 848 ZOF terrorists have been eliminated since 7th October 2023, according to ZOF data.

Deadly US strikes hit Yemen fuel port used by Huthis
    https://jordantimes.com/news/region/deadly-us-strikes-hit-yemen-fuel-port-used-huthis

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->SANAA — The US military said it had destroyed a key Yemeni fuel port as it targets the country's Huthi rebels, who said Friday that 20 people had been killed in the strikes.

The attack on the Ras Issa fuel port aimed to cut off a source of supplies and funds for the Iran-backed Huthis, the US military said.

Washington has hammered the Huthis with near-daily air strikes since March 15 in a bid to end their attacks on civilian shipping and military vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The rebels began their attacks in late 2023, claiming solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Israel's army said Friday they had intercepted an incoming missile from Yemen.

In a statement, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said: "US forces took action to eliminate this source of fuel for the Iran-backed Huthi terrorists and deprive them of illegal revenue that has funded Huthi efforts to terrorise the entire region for over 10 years.

"The objective of these strikes was to degrade the economic source of power of the Huthis, who continue to exploit and bring great pain upon their fellow countrymen".

Ships "have continued to supply fuel via the port of Ras Issa" despite Washington designating the rebels a foreign terrorist organisation earlier this year, the military command added, without specifying the source of the fuel.

Huthi health ministry spokesman Anees Alasbahi said the preliminary death toll stood at 20, including five paramedics.

There were also "50 wounded workers and employees at the Ras Issa oil port, following the American aggression", he said on X.

"The death toll is likely to rise as body parts are still being identified," he added.

    Fireball

The port lies along the west coast of Yemen on the Red Sea.

In images broadcast early Friday by the rebels' Al-Masira channel, which it presented as the "first images of the US aggression" against the port, a fireball lit up the area around the ships, while thick columns of smoke rose above what appeared to be an ongoing blaze.

"Civil defence rescue teams and paramedics are making every effort to search for and extract victims and extinguish the fire," said Alasbahi.

The Huthis have regularly fired missiles and drones on Israel since the war in Gaza broke out in October 2023 following an attack on Israel by Hamas militants.

"Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted," Israel's army said Friday on Telegram, adding that aerial defence systems had been deployed "to intercept the threat".

Huthi attacks have hampered shipping through the Suez Canal -- a vital route that normally carries about 12 percent of world shipping traffic -- forcing many companies into a costly detour around the tip of southern Africa.

The United States first began conducting strikes against the Huthis under president Joe Biden's administration, and his successor President Donald Trump has vowed that military action against the rebels would continue until they are no longer a threat to shipping.

On Thursday evening, France's Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu said a French frigate in the Red Sea destroyed a drone launched from Yemen.

"Our armed forces continue their commitment to ensuring maritime freedom of movement," he said on X.

US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce told journalists Thursday that the Chinese satellite firm Chang Guang Satellite Technology Company was "directly supporting Iran-backed Huthi terrorist attacks on US interests".

"Their actions -- and Beijing's support of the company, even after our private engagements with them -- is yet another example of China's empty claims to support peace," she said.

Bruce did not initially provide details on the nature of the company's support for the rebels, but later referred to "a Chinese company providing satellite imagery to the Huthis."

Hizbollah 'will not let anyone disarm' it, says chief
    https://jordantimes.com/news/region/hizbollah-will-not-let-anyone-disarm-it-says-chief

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->BEIRUT, Lebanon — Hizbollah "will not let anyone disarm" it, the Lebanese group's leader Naim Qassem said Friday, as Washington presses Beirut to compel the Iran-backed movement to hand over its weapons.

Hezbollah, long a dominant force in Lebanese politics, was left weakened by more than a year of hostilities with Israel sparked by the Gaza war, including an Israeli ground incursion and two months of heavy bombardment that decimated the group's leadership.

The fighting was largely brought to an end by a November ceasefire, but not before the group's longtime leader and Qassem's predecessor Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli air strike.

"We will not let anyone disarm Hezbollah or disarm the resistance" against Israel, Qassem said in remarks on a Hezbollah-affiliated TV channel.

"We must cut this idea of disarmament from the dictionary."

His comments came hours after another Hizbollah official said the group refused to discuss handing over its weapons unless Israel withdrew completely from south Lebanon and halted its "aggression".

"It is not a question of disarming," Wafic Safa said in an interview with Hizbollah’s Al-Nur radio station.

"What the president (Joseph Aoun) said in his inauguration speech is a defensive strategy."

Safa, believed by experts to belong to the movement's most radical faction, said Hezbollah had conveyed its position to Aoun, who on Tuesday said he sought "to make 2025 the year of restricting arms to the state".

In his interview, Safa asked: "Wouldn't it be logical for Israel to first withdraw, then release the prisoners, then cease its aggression... and then we discuss a defensive strategy?

"The defensive strategy is about thinking about how to protect Lebanon, not preparing for the party to hand over its weapons."

Analysts have said that the once unthinkable idea of Hezbollah disarming may no longer be so, and may even be inevitable.

    Problem is Israel'

Under the November ceasefire, Israel was meant to withdraw all of its forces from south Lebanon.

But despite the deal, its troops have remained at five south Lebanon positions that they deem "strategic".

Israel has also continued to carry out near-daily strikes against Lebanon -- including on Friday -- saying it is targeting members of Hezbollah.

Under the truce, Hizbollah was to pull its fighters back north of Lebanon's Litani River and dismantle any remaining military infrastructure in the south.

Lebanon's army has been deploying in the south as Israeli forces pulled back.

Hezbollah says the ceasefire does not apply to the rest of Lebanon, despite being based on UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which calls for the disarmament of non-state groups.

Hizbollah was the only group to keep its weapons after Lebanon's 15-year civil war ended in 1990, saying that they were for "resistance" against Israel, which continued to occupy the south until 2000.

US special envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus, who visited Beirut this month, said Washington continued to press Beirut "to fully fulfil the cessation of hostilities, and that includes disarming Hizbollah and all militias".

Safa said on Friday that both Hezbollah and the Lebanese army were respecting the terms of the truce.

"The problem is Israel, which has not done so," he said.

On Saturday, a source close to Hezbollah told AFP that the group had ceded to the Lebanese army around 190 of its 265 military positions identified south of the Litani.

US to withdraw some 1,000 troops from Syria
    https://jordantimes.com/news/world/us-withdraw-some-1000-troops-syria

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->WASHINGTON — The United States will roughly halve the number of troops it has deployed in Syria to less than 1,000 in the coming months, the Pentagon said Friday.

Washington has had troops in Syria for years as part of international efforts against the Daesh terror group, which rose out of the chaos of the country's civil war to seize swaths of territory there and in neighboring Iraq over a decade ago.

The brutal extremists have since suffered major defeats in both countries, but still remain a threat.

"Today the secretary of defense directed the consolidation of US forces in Syria... to select locations," Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement, without specifying the sites where this would take place.

"This deliberate and conditions-based process will bring the US footprint in Syria down to less than 1,000 US forces in the coming months," he said.

President Donald Trump has long been skeptical of Washington's presence in Syria, ordering the withdrawal of troops during his first term but ultimately leaving American forces in the country.

As Islamist-led rebels pressed forward with a lightning offensive last December that ultimately overthrew Syrian president Bashar Al Assad, Trump said Washington should "NOT GET INVOLVED!"

"Syria is a mess, but is not our friend, & THE UNITED STATES SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THIS IS NOT OUR FIGHT," Trump, then the president-elect, wrote on his Truth Social platform.

    Years of war against Daesh

The 2014 onslaught by Daesh prompted a US-led air campaign in support of local ground forces -- the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Iraqi government units.

Washington also deployed thousands of American personnel to advise and assist local forces, with US troops in some cases directly fighting the jihadists.

After years of bloody warfare, Iraq's prime minister announced a final victory over IS in December 2017, while the SDF proclaimed the defeat of the group's "caliphate" in March 2019 after seizing its final bastion in Syria.

But the extremists still have some fighters in the countryside of both countries, and US forces have long carried out periodic strikes and raids to help prevent the group's resurgence.

Washington stepped up military action against Daesh in Syria in the wake of Assad's overthrow, though it has more recently shifted its focus to strikes targeting Yemen's Huthi rebels, who have been attacking international shipping since late 2023.

US forces in Iraq and Syria were repeatedly targeted by pro-Iran militants following the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023, but responded with heavy strikes on Tehran-linked targets, and the attacks largely subsided.

Washington for years said it had some 900 military personnel in Syria as part of international efforts against Daesh, but the Pentagon announced in December 2024 that the number of US troops in the country had doubled to around 2,000 earlier in the year.

While the United States is reducing its forces in Syria, Iraq has also sought an end to the US-led coalition's presence there, where Washington has said it has some 2,500 troops.

The United States and Iraq have announced that the coalition would end its decade-long military mission in federal Iraq by the end of 2025, and by September 2026 in the autonomous Kurdistan region.

Press TV: Deadly US strikes hit Yemen fuel port used by Huthis https://jordantimes.com/news/region/deadly-us-strikes-hit-yemen-fuel-port-used-huthis <!-- google_ad_section_start -->SANAA — The US military said it had destroyed a key Yemeni fuel port as it targets the country's Huthi rebels, who said Friday that 20 people had been killed in the strikes. Fireball    The port lies along the west coast of Yemen on the Red Sea. Bruce did not initially provide details on the nature of the company's support for the rebels, but later referred to "a Chinese company providing satellite imagery to the Huthis." <!-- google_ad_section_end -->Image:  Hizbollah 'will not let anyone disarm' it, says chief https://jordantimes.com/news/region/hizbollah-will-not-let-anyone-disarm-it-says-chief <!-- google_ad_section_start -->BEIRUT, Lebanon — Hizbollah "will not let anyone disarm" it, the Lebanese group's leader Naim Qassem said Friday, as Washington presses Beirut to compel the Iran-backed movement to hand over its weapons. "We must cut this idea of disarmament from the dictionary."   His comments came hours after another Hizbollah official said the group refused to discuss handing over its weapons unless Israel withdrew completely from south Lebanon and halted its "aggression".   "It is not a question of disarming," Wafic Safa said in an interview with Hizbollah’s Al-Nur radio station.   "What the president (Joseph Aoun) said in his inauguration speech is a defensive strategy."    Safa, believed by experts to belong to the movement's most radical faction, said Hezbollah had conveyed its position to Aoun, who on Tuesday said he sought "to make 2025 the year of restricting arms to the state".   In his interview, Safa asked: "Wouldn't it be logical for Israel to first withdraw, then release the prisoners, then cease its aggression... and then we discuss a defensive strategy?   "The defensive strategy is about thinking about how to protect Lebanon, not preparing for the party to hand over its weapons."   Analysts have said that the once unthinkable idea of Hezbollah disarming may no longer be so, and may even be inevitable.   Problem is Israel'    Under the November ceasefire, Israel was meant to withdraw all of its forces from south Lebanon. <!-- google_ad_section_end -->Image:  5yrs ago April 2020 What a strange world we live in Covid-19 ClownWorld Restrictions Lockdowns Masks US to withdraw some 1,000 troops from Syria https://jordantimes.com/news/world/us-withdraw-some-1000-troops-syria <!-- google_ad_section_start -->WASHINGTON — The United States will roughly halve the number of troops it has deployed in Syria to less than 1,000 in the coming months, the Pentagon said Friday. As Islamist-led rebels pressed forward with a lightning offensive last December that ultimately overthrew Syrian president Bashar Al Assad, Trump said Washington should "NOT GET INVOLVED!"   "Syria is a mess, but is not our friend, & THE UNITED STATES SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THIS IS NOT OUR FIGHT," Trump, then the president-elect, wrote on his Truth Social platform.   Years of war against Daesh   The 2014 onslaught by Daesh prompted a US-led air campaign in support of local ground forces -- the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Iraqi government units. <!-- google_ad_section_end -->Image:  A few minutes ago, the Russian Defense Ministry published unique footage of the destruction of another American multiple launch rocket system 'HIMARS'.
