The Parable of Water
One day, a man came to the Master. He began insulting him, shouting in anger. The Master listened and smiled. Very quickly, the man’s anger faded and turned into surprise.
— What's going on, why are you smiling?! — asked the man. — I insulted you, I threw mud at you, and you just smile in response!
— Tell me, — the Master began his answer, — can clean water make dirty water clean?
— No, of course not!
— But dirty water will always stain clean water. Right?
— Of course! — the man answered, puzzled.
— Just like a person with dirty thoughts stains everything they come into contact with. They see only dirt everywhere, and that seems like the truth to them.
Hearing the Master’s words, the man began to get angry again.
— Can dirty water spoil the source?
— No, Master…
— That's why I smile.
Come to quench your thirst and wash away your dirt. The source does not choose; it gives to everyone who is ready to receive.
