• JUST-IN: JONATHAN UKO OGAH AND FRIEND GABRIEL SAVAGELY MURDERED BY SUSPECTED TIV MILITIA IN GWER EAST

    4th August, 2025 | 7:45 PM

In a chilling and barbaric act that has shocked the state, Jonathan Uko Ogah and his close friend Gabriel were brutally murdered in the early hours of today by suspected Tiv militia along the Oju–Awarji road, around the Ullam axis of Gwer East Local Government Area, Benue State.

The victims were reportedly on their way back from Oju Local Government Area when they were ambushed and cut down in cold blood — a tragic end to two promising young lives. Eyewitness accounts and local sources confirm that the attack was unprovoked and carried out with shocking cruelty.

This gruesome killing is not only condemnable — it is an assault on our shared humanity and an outright declaration of lawlessness. The perpetrators of this act are not just criminals; they are enemies of peace, of justice, and of every value that binds us together as a people.

We strongly condemn this wicked, senseless, and ethnically motivated killing. No community, no group, and no individual has the right to take the life of another under any pretense. The rule of law must be upheld. We call on the Benue State Government, security agencies, and all relevant authorities to act immediately — not with words, but with results.

Justice delayed is justice denied, and the longer we allow this impunity to continue, the deeper we sink into the pit of chaos. These killings must stop. The killers must be found. Justice must prevail.

Jonathan and Gabriel did not deserve to die. They were sons of our soil, taken far too soon by hands soaked in blood. We mourn them. We stand with their families. And we demand justice, not just for them, but for every innocent soul lost to violence across our land.

This is one killing too many. This is a wake-up call. The time to act is now.
