TOPIC: BECOMING A VESSEL UNTO HONOUR

    MEMORISE:
"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire." - (Matthew 3:11)

    READ: Luke 1:26-38 (KJV)

    MESSAGE:
After reading today's topic, you may ask, how do I become a vessel unto honour? The simple answer is that you need the Holy Spirit.

In (1 Samuel 16:1,11-13), God told Samuel, "I am sending you to Jesse's house because I want to raise a king there." Jesse didn't present David initially because the entire family believed that David was not the kind of person who could become a king. However, as soon as David came, God said, "That is him." Samuel poured oil on David's head, and the Bible says that the Spirit of God came upon him. When the Spirit of God came upon the shepherd boy, he became who God wanted him to be - a king. God has a great plan for your life, but you need the power of the Holy Spirit over your life to fulfil it.

In (1 Samuel 10:6), Samuel told Saul that the Spirit of God would come on him and he would prophesy; the Spirit of God turned an ordinary boy into a prophet. In Judges 13:1-25, an angel told a woman that she was going to give birth to a son and that he would be a judge in Israel. After that son was born, the Bible says that the Spirit of God began to move him. When the Spirit of God comes on someone, the fellow becomes who God says he or she will be. In today's Bible reading, when the angel told Mary, "You will have a son, and He will be the son of the Highest," she asked, "How can this be since I know no man?" The angel gave her the ultimate solution to impossible cases: The Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit came upon her, she did the impossible; she conceived God and birthed Him into the world. She became a vessel unto honour because the Holy Spirit came upon her.

Are you struggling with sin? Do you find it difficult to spend time in God's presence? Do you lack the fire and zeal to live a holy life? Do you keep going back to your vomit of addictions? Cry out for the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is symbolised as fire, and when fire visits a place, nothing remains the same. When the Holy Spirit came upon Saul, the persecutor, he was changed into Paul, the apostle.

Beloved, the Holy Spirit sanctifies vessels for the Father's highest purposes, and you need Him to become a chosen vessel unto honour.

    PRAYER POINT:
Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on me and use me for Your glory.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
    1 Kings 19-20

    HYMNAL:
Hymn 23 - Take my life, and let it be

“We at the ADC coalition have all agreed to work together ahead of the 2027 election. I’m not going to be a running mate to anybody, I’m going to contest for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I believe I am qualified for that.”

Tinubu’s administration has borrowed more than Yar’Adua, Jonathan, and Buhari's governments put together.

  • MultiChoice fined N766m for data protection breaches in Nigeria

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has imposed a hefty fine of N766,242,500 (Seven-Hundred-and-Sixty-Six-Million-Two-Hundred-and-Forty-Two-Thousand-Five-Hundred Naira) on MultiChoice Nigeria for multiple violations of the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDP Act).

The investigation, which began in the second quarter of 2024, was prompted by concerns over suspected breaches of privacy rights affecting MultiChoice subscribers and the alleged illegal transfer of personal data belonging to Nigerians across borders.

In a statement on Sunday, signed by Babatunde Bamigboye, NDPC’s head, legal, enforcement and regulations, the commission said their findings revealed that MultiChoice not only violated the data privacy rights of its subscribers but also those of their friends, even if they were not direct subscribers themselves

The statement reads: "The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has fined Multichoice Nigeria the sum of N766,242,500 (Seven-Hundred-and-Sixty-Six-Million-Two-Hundred-and- Forty-Two-Thousand-Five-Hundred naira) for violating the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDP Act). The investigation which commenced in the second quarter of 2024 was triggered by suspected breach of privacy rights of Multichoice subscribers and illegal cross-border transfer of personal data of Nigerians. NDPC found, among others, that Multichoice violated the data privacy rights of subscribers and their friends who are not necessarily subscribers.

"The Commission also found that Multichoice carries out illegal cross-border transfer of personal data relating to data subjects in Nigeria. The depth of data processing by Multichoice is patently intrusive, unfair, unnecessary and disproportionate. This is a grave affront to fundamental right to privacy as enshrined in section 37 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

"Nigeria is entitled to protect her citizens, and data sovereignty under both international and extant municipal laws as these have far-reaching implication for rule of law, national security and economic growth.

"In line with its standard remediation procedure, the Commission directed Multichoice to carry out appropriate remedial measures. However, the Commission found the measures undertaken by Multichoice in this regard unsatisfactory. For want of cooperation, the Commission has directed Multichoice to pay N766,242,500 for violating the Nigeria Data Protection Act.

"In view of the foregoing, NDPC National Commissioner, Dr Vincent Olatunji, has directed that all outlets through which Multichoice is collecting personal data of Nigerian citizens should be investigated for non-compliance. Any outlet that processes personal data in violation of the NDP Act is liable to penalty under the Act."

  • I think that the romantic impulse is in all of us and that sometimes we live it for a short time, but it's not part of a sensible way of living. It's a heroic path and it generally ends dangerously. I treasure it in the sense that I believe it's a path of great courage. It can also be the path of the foolhardy and the compulsive

  • TV is so different from the movies. It takes a lot of stamina because you work such long hours. It is really challenging. You are learning the next day's lines while you are shooting today's scenes. I found courage I never realised I had. I hope to do more
