  • Super Falcons defender, Ashleigh Plumptre, has expressed concern over the lack of basic facilities and support structures provided for the Nigerian women’s national team during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament held in Morocco.
Plumptre lamented the absence of essential recovery amenities, such as a gym and pool, at the team’s accommodation throughout their stay in Casablanca, where the team played all their group stage matches, as well as the quarterfinal and semi-final fixtures.
“I think with some teams like England—obviously they’ve just won the Euros—the amount of investment and meticulous planning and structure and everything behind them is evident. It’s just like little things like the resources, what fields they’re training on, what their recovery is like,” she said.
Plumptre said the lack of facilities left the players physically drained towards the end of the tournament.

How can private investment be brought in to develop women's football?

  • She was a Math teacher in Mallapuram Kerala. One day her student saw her begging near Railway Station but didn't recognize her properly. But after a while the student realised that was her class Mathematics teacher.

When she spoke to her, She said , that after Getting retired from school,my children left me ,and she was homeless since then. So then she started begging infront of the Railway Station.

The student cried ,and took her home ,gave her good clothings, foodstuffs , and made a plan for her accomodation. Then she contacted the rest of the school friends , those who have studied with her. They took her to a better place to live.

She was left by her own children ,but the children whom she taught they didn't leave her.
