*THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE*

DATE: MONDAY 12TH MAY 2025

THEME: *THE BLESSINGS OF WAITING UPON THE LORD*

MEMORIZE
Psalms 37:9
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

READ
Isaiah 40:28-31
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
*Our strength is being renewed when we wait upon the Lord.*

MESSAGE
There are so many blessings attached to waiting upon the Lord, as shown in today's text and memory verse.

Am particularly touched by today's memory verse which says that *those who wait upon the Lord shall inherit the earth...*

This means waiting upon the Lord makes a person so powerful that the world will eventually bow to the one who actually waits upon the Lord.

It may not happen immediately, but it will happen eventually because God's word cannot fail...

Today's text further explains what makes the one who waits on God to be that powerful... It actually says waiting upon the Lord helps you to renew your strength as the eagle. The word translated as *renew* in the text is the same word as *exchange* and it does mean that waiting upon the Lord makes you put off your own strength and to put on the strength of God simultaneously in the process.

Secondly, it likens, waiting upon the Lord to the eagle.

It is said that the eagle would annually retreat to the mountain top to be alone for the space of 10-40 days. And during this time, the eagle eats nothing, it only drinks water throughout, and within this period also, it afflicts itself until all it's old feathers are all sheded off, it will hit it's hunting talons until they also fall off, then it waits patiently for new ones to grow up in the place of the old ones; and afterwards, it resumes it's great aero-dynamic flights in the air again.

This way, the eagle maintains its strength both for flight and hunting.

*Our strength is being renewed in the same way when we wait upon the Lord.*

Waiting here connotes tarrying before God in prayers and fasting with the Word of God. And of course, it should be with a definite purpose and focus on something absolutely divine.

*When we wait upon God this way, we are empowered to mount up with wings like the great eagle, running without getting wearied, and walking without fainting.*

May your strength be renewed in this season of waiting upon the Lord in Jesus name.

ACTION STEPS
1. Create time to wait upon the LORD periodically to renew your strength in the LORD.

2. Get into prayers like never before and avoid every form of distractions.

3. Be sensitive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for today's devotional guide, I receive the grace to love and serve you more truly in Jesus name. Amen.

REMEMBER
*Our strength is being renewed when we wait upon the Lord.*

HYMN
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness ;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand ;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

2
When darkness hides His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the vail.

3
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the 'whelming flood ;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

4
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
On ,may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne !
