How to Make Ofe Oha – A Rich Traditional Igbo Soup

Oha soup is a special Igbo delicacy made with freshly plucked Oha leaves.

Ingredients:
Oha leaves
Cocoyam (as thickener)
Palm oil
Meat, stockfish, and ponmo
Ogiri Igbo (local seasoning)
Seasoning cubes and salt


Steps:

1. Boil cocoyam and blend to a smooth paste.

2. Cook your meat with stockfish until soft.

3. Add palm oil, then the cocoyam paste to thicken.

4. Stir in Ogiri and allow to cook.

5. Add Oha leaves last and simmer for 5 minutes.


Serve with fufu or pounded yam. It’s food that touches the soul.
