SAD REALITY 🤦‍♂️💔 Did you know Davido was the only major artiste who showed up for the Headies Awards? Many of the top artistes didn’t bother to attend simply because it’s a Nigerian award. Even Shallipopi, who won an award, reportedly rejected his own category. Yet these same artistes are ready to spend millions traveling abroad just to attend the Grammys. The same Shallipopi who rejected a Headies win would gladly accept a Grammy nod even as a background act. This is one of Africa’s biggest problems: We often fail to value our own until it’s praised by the West. If it’s made in Africa, it’s "not enough" — but once it’s foreign, we worship it.
