Succession Process Begins: Fusengbuwa Ruling House Next in Line for Awujale Throne

Following the passing of HRM Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, the revered Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu Land, the royal succession process has commenced. In accordance with traditional rotation and established custom, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House is next in line to produce the next Awujale of Ijebu Land.

The Fusengbuwa Ruling House comprises eight distinguished family lineages eligible for consideration:

1. Olufadi
2. Adesimbo Tunwase
3. Shenowo
4. Okuyandewo
5. Oshinuga
6. Adekenu
7. Adebiyi
8. Adeberu

These families represent the branches of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House traditionally entitled to ascend the throne. The selection process is guided by the deep-rooted values of lineage, heritage, and legacy, integral to the culture and governance of Ijebu Land.
