THEME: *PREVAILING PRAYERS*

MEMORISE
Luke 18:1
"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;"

READ
Luke 18:1-8
"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
*Men ought always to pray and not to give up.*

MESSAGE
Today's memory verse can also imply that: "Men ought to always pray until they have their answers or until they prevail with their requests."

Prevailing prayer is the winning prayer. It is the prayer that is persistent, consistent, and persevering in delays. Maintaining position in every opposition until the opposition gives way for you to secure your position.

Prevailing prayers does not give God any break or rest until He has no option but to grant your heart's request.

Prevailing prayers says: "I know the answers are with God and am going to wait, press, pray, knock, cry, ask, seek and keep on pressing, waiting, asking, seeking until I get it from God.

But the crucial force that makes prevailing prayers thick and powerful is prevailing faith.
So the Lord in the parable above gave us the clue as to why that weak and vulnerable widow prevailed over the unjust judge who neither feared God nor regarded any man. In verse eight, the Lord asked a question:
Luke 18:8 "....Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" In other words, when the Lord shall return to the earth again, shall He find those whose faith is strong enough to make them persevere in prayers until their desires are granted???
From a scriptural standpoint and from current global happenings, it is certain that we are in the season of the Lord's return. And like He rightly foretold several years ago in His first advent, people are hardly patient today.

Everyone seems to be in a haste all the time with barely any time to spend before God in prayers, let alone prevailing prayers that would sometimes require waiting and pressing.

This is the time that the Lord Jesus spoke about, in that parable.

Beloved, if there is ever a time to pray like never before, it is now. And if ever there is a time that our faith is being tested than at any other time in history, it is now.

There is the need to lift your eyes up and keep your gaze on the Lord as never before because the Lord is at the door!
Shalom, maranatha!

ACTION STEPS
1. Increase the intensity of your prayer life.
2. Increase your word intake to boost your faith level.
3. Stay focused on one prayer point per time until you prevail in it.

PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father, Thank you for today's devotional guide. Oh Lord, God of hosts saturate my life with your presence and power in Jesus' name. Amen.

REMEMBER
*Men ought always to pray and not to give up.*

HYMN
Blessed assurance — Jesus is mine !
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine !
Heir of salvation, purchase of God ;
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long ;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.

2
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture burst on my sight ;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Saviour am happy and blest ;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
