JUST IN: INEC Rejects ADA’s Registration Bid Over Unmet Requirements
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the proposed All Democratic Alliance (ADA) has failed to meet the necessary requirements for registration as a political party.
INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr. Sam Olumekun, disclosed this to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday. He explained that although the Commission has received several letters of intent from aspiring political groups, none — including ADA — has satisfied the conditions required to proceed to the formal registration stage.
“We have many letters of intent at the moment, but none qualifies as a formal application. Groups must first meet the stipulated criteria before they can submit a valid application,” Olumekun said.
Sources indicated that ADA’s promoters made a critical error by omitting the word “Electoral” in their correspondence to the INEC Chairman, further weakening their application.
