The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, of attempting to impose former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, at the expense of national unity.
The APC claimed that El-Rufai and his allies in the ADC were attempting to undermine Nigeria’s power rotation arrangement by pushing for Atiku’s candidacy in 2027, despite the presidency currently being held by the South.

Courtesy Visit by Swine Farmers EXCO of Plateau State to the Ministry of Livestock Development
The Executive Committee (EXCO) of Swine Farmers in Plateau State paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Livestock Development today, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between the association and the state government.
The delegation was warmly received by the Honourable Commissioner for Livestock Development, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Chief Veterinary Officer, Director of Veterinary Services, Director of Finance, Director of Administration, and Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in meaningful discussions on ways to advance pig farming in Plateau State, improve productivity, and promote economic empowerment through livestock development. The ministry expressed its readiness to support the association’s goals and welcomed the opportunity for structured partnership and technical cooperation.
The Swine Farmers EXCO expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the ministry to elevate the swine industry across the state.
This engagement marks a significant step toward the growth of the livestock sector and the empowerment of farmers, particularly in rural communities.

The Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, has expressed frustration over the continued non-operation of the Mother and Child Hospital and the Dr Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Centre in Port Harcourt, despite both facilities having been fully built and commissioned for over three years.
The Mother and Child Hospital was commissioned in June 2021, while the Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Centre was commissioned in November 2022. However, neither facility has ever been put to use and both remain sealed, attracting public criticism.

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in the northern states has called for the adoption of the Kaduna peace model as a strategic approach to promoting national unity and fostering religious harmony across the country.
Chairman of Northern CAN, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, made the call on Monday during the Kaduna Inter-Religious Dialogue on Peace, Unity, and Security Committee Meeting, held to mark the two-year anniversary of Governor Uba Sani’s administration, organised by the Kaduna State Bureau of Interfaith.
