He came back to PDP, contested for the PDP presidential ticket, and lost to Jonathan in 2011.

Obasanjo accused Atiku of distributing $5K per senator to remove Senate President Evan Enwerem.

During a Senate inquiry in 2007, senators found out that Atiku allegedly diverted $100M, including $90K cash stashed in his freezer at home.

Once chaired an Ecological Fund Office, alleged to have used SPVs to divert 100M.

In 2010, a United States Senate report accused Atiku of laundering over $40M between 2000 and 2008 using his wife, Jennifer Iwenjora, who was actually an NTA reporter.

Started as an advisor on the cabinet of Abdulsalam Abubakar on his economic team after the death of Abacha in 1998.

Bureau of Public Enterprises.

Appointed FCT Minister in 2003.

The EFCC laid an 8-count charge against him for land allocation and revocation in 2011.

Governor of Kaduna State, 2015 to 2023.

Got into power and immediately abolished the Kaduna Charter for Equity, scrapping power sharing between Muslims and Christians.

As governor, he is reported to have allocated 27,000 plots of land—some to family members.

This year, a Kaduna court ordered forfeiture of N1.37B allegedly diverted during the El-Rufai administration, part of the funds for a light rail project.

Last year, the Kaduna State Assembly accused El-Rufai and some of his appointees of N423 billion theft from the state coffers.

His former CoS was sent to prison for money laundering. Sold $45M USD belonging to the state government with criminal intent against parallel rates.

As governor, his tenure was marked by ethnic cleansing and religious persecutions.
