Notorious Bandit Leader Kachallah Bugaje Repents, Renounces Crime, released 50 Kidnapped victims to families By: Zagazola Makama A notorious bandit leader, formerly known as Kachallah Bugaje, has publicly renounced banditry and pledged to abandon criminal activities along with 50 of his fighters. In a 5-minute, 42-second video, obtained by Zagazola Makama, Bugaje, who now wishes to be called Zakiru Bugaje, denounced kidnapping and theft, declaring his decision to turn a new leaf. “We have abducted over 50 people, called their families, and demanded ransoms—some as high as 10 million naira, others 25 million naira. But we later released them without collecting a penny, out of the fear of God,” he said. Bugaje repeatedly expressed remorse for his past actions, emphasizing that he would no longer engage in criminality. He praised Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and urged others involved in banditry to abandon their ways.

Court Orders Lady to Pay ₦150k for Failing to Visit Boyfriend After Receiving ₦3k Transport Fare A Magistrate Court in Ilesa, Osun State, has ordered Rhoda Adu to pay ₦150,000 to her boyfriend, Eru Dupe, after she collected ₦3,000 as transport fare but failed to visit him as promised. The incident began when Eru Dupe transferred the transport fare to Rhoda, who subsequently switched off her phone and failed to show up. Feeling defrauded and emotionally distressed, Eru reported the matter to the Ayeso Police Station. Rhoda was later arrested and brought to court. During the trial, Eru presented evidence, including the mobile money transfer and WhatsApp messages exchanged between him and Rhoda. In her ruling, Magistrate Akogun Oludare ordered Rhoda to refund the ₦3,000, pay an additional ₦100,000 for breach of agreement, and another ₦50,000 for emotional damages. The court emphasized that the ruling was intended to deter others from similar behavior. The boyfriend, visibly relieved, expressed gratitude for the justice served, while Rhoda was admonished for her actions.
