A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, presided by Justice Ekerete Akpan, has convicted 21 foreign nationals over high-level cybercrime, fining each of them one million Naira.

Justice Akpan, while delivering judgment on the plea bargain reached between the convicts and the Nigeria Police Force, ordered their immediate departure from Nigeria within six working days.

This comes as capital inflows into Nigeria surged by 67.12 percent to $5.6 billion in the first quarter of 2025 compared to $3.4 billion recorded in the same period of 2024.

On 23rd July, 2025, in a crucial meeting I chaired at the National Assembly, the Senate Committee on Local Content announced to stakeholders and the general public its moves to enforce compliance with Local Content laws and regulations, as well as sanction erring companies, organisations and agencies in the Oil & Gas and Non-Oil sectors.
